ByteDance's enterprise cloud: it sells API access to ByteDance AI models, such as the Seedance video and Seedream image models, plus cloud infrastructure.

What BytePlus is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

BytePlus is an enterprise technology and cloud business built on ByteDance's technology. It launched in March 2021 with personalization, AR and data intelligence services, and it now sells AI models, cloud infrastructure and security services to companies.

Its AI models are served through ModelArk, a platform for calling large models by API with one key, with a browser playground and a command-line tool. The catalog includes ByteDance's Seed models: Seed 2.1 for coding and agents, Seedream for image generation and editing, and Seedance for video. Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 generate video from text together with image, video and audio references, with synchronized sound; Seedance 2.5 makes clips up to 30 seconds long and can edit a generated video. Other products include GPU compute, a Kubernetes service, databases, object storage, a CDN and a web application firewall.

Model use is pay per use: video models are billed per million tokens, image models per image and language models per million input and output tokens. Prepaid plans for Seedance are also sold.
