Firebase AI Logic

A Google Firebase service whose client SDKs let mobile and web apps send prompts to Google's Gemini AI models directly, without a separate back-end server.

What Firebase AI Logic is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Firebase AI Logic is a service in Firebase, Google's platform for building mobile and web apps. It gives apps access to Google's Gemini models, generative AI models that accept text, images, PDFs, video and audio as input. It provides client SDKs (software development kits, libraries that an app includes in its own code) in Swift for Apple platforms, Kotlin and Java for Android, JavaScript for the web, Dart for Flutter, and Unity.

The app sends a prompt from the user's device through the SDK. A Firebase proxy service forwards the request to the chosen Gemini API provider, the Gemini Developer API or the Agent Platform Gemini API (formerly Vertex AI), so the API key stays on the server and is not built into the app. Firebase App Check can reject requests from unauthorized clients, and per-user rate limits are on by default. The SDKs support chat, structured JSON output, image and speech generation, streaming and function calling.

Firebase AI Logic itself is free of charge. Gemini use is billed by the chosen provider on a pay-per-use basis; the Gemini Developer API also has a free tier.
