HeyGen

An AI video platform and API that turns a written script into a video of a talking digital presenter, with lip-sync, cloned voices and translation.

What HeyGen is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

HeyGen is an AI video platform made by HeyGen, Inc. Its core product is the AI avatar: a digital presenter, made from a recording or a photo of a real person or from ready-made presenters, that speaks any script with matching lip movements.

A user or a program gives a script, an avatar and a voice, and HeyGen renders the video. The avatar engines (Avatar III, IV and V) learn how a person talks and moves from one recording, and the lip-sync works at the level of phonemes (single speech sounds) in 175+ languages and dialects. Video Agent turns a short prompt into a finished video with a presenter, motion graphics and B-roll. Video translation takes an uploaded file or a YouTube link, clones the speaker's voice in another language and re-syncs the lips. Through the API a program posts a request and polls for the finished video; batch calls take up to 100 requests, and a CLI and an MCP server serve AI agents.

HeyGen is a hosted service: a web app with free and monthly subscription plans, an API billed per use from prepaid funds, and enterprise contracts.
