Hunyuan3D

Tencent's AI models that turn an image or a text prompt into a textured 3D model, offered as downloadable weights and on Tencent's 3D creation website.

What Hunyuan3D is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Hunyuan3D is the family of 3D generation models in Tencent's Hunyuan AI program. It produces 3D assets: a mesh (a surface built from many small triangles) with a texture painted on it. Tencent offers it as open code on GitHub with model weights on Hugging Face, and through the Tencent Hunyuan 3D creation platform, which is based on version 2.5.

Version 2.1 works in two stages. Hunyuan3D-Shape (3.3 billion parameters) turns an input image into an untextured mesh. Hunyuan3D-Paint (2 billion parameters) then paints PBR textures on it; PBR (physically based rendering) maps describe how light reflects, so metal and skin look real under any lighting. The release includes the full weights and training code, runs on Linux, Windows and macOS, and needs about 29 GB of GPU memory for both stages. The web platform adds text to 3D, 3D animation and texture generation.

The weights are free under the Tencent Hunyuan 3D 2.1 Community License, which excludes the European Union, the United Kingdom and South Korea and requires a separate license above 1 million monthly users.
