The Meshy API is the developer interface to the 3D generation models of Meshy LLC. A program uses it to create 3D models from a text prompt or from one or more images: a mesh (the network of points and triangles that describes a 3D surface) plus textures (the images painted on that surface).
A program calls an endpoint such as Text to 3D, Image to 3D or Multi-Image to 3D, chooses a model (for example meshy-6 or the newer meshy-7.1) and a texture resolution of 2K, 4K or 8K, and receives the finished model; webhooks report when a task ends. Text to 3D runs in two requests: a preview mesh, then a refine step that adds textures. Other endpoints retexture, remesh, rig and animate characters, convert file formats and prepare models for 3D printing. An MCP server lets AI agents such as Claude Code or Cursor call Meshy, and plugins connect it to Blender and Unity.
The API is billed in prepaid credits: each request costs a fixed number of credits that depends on the endpoint, the model and the options. Credits come with the paid subscription plans.
