Nano Banana Pro

Google's premium Gemini image model (Gemini 3 Pro Image), which creates and edits detailed images with legible text from prompts and reference images.

What Nano Banana Pro is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Nano Banana Pro is the name that Google DeepMind gives to Gemini 3 Pro Image, an image generation model built on Gemini 3. Its model ID in the Gemini API is gemini-3-pro-image. It is the premium member of the Nano Banana family, meant for the most complex visual tasks; the Flash models of the family are faster and cheaper.

The model takes text and reference images and returns new or edited images at 1K, 2K or 4K resolution, in a chosen aspect ratio. It renders sharp, legible text for posters and diagrams and can translate the text inside an image for another market. It keeps up to five characters and up to fourteen objects consistent across images, and it uses Gemini's world knowledge, with optional Google Search grounding, for infographics and accurate scenes. Every generated image carries a SynthID watermark, a mark embedded in the image that identifies it as AI-generated.

The model is available in the Gemini app and Google AI Studio, and to developers through the paid tier of the Gemini API, billed per use: per million input tokens and per generated image.
