Ant Design

An open-source React UI component library and design system: developers build application screens from ready-made buttons, tables, forms and other components.

What Ant Design is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Ant Design is a design system and a React UI component library, made by Ant Group and the Ant Design community. A UI component library is a set of ready-made interface parts, such as buttons, tables, forms, date pickers and dialogs, that a developer places in an application instead of building each one. React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces from components.

The React library is called antd. A developer installs it with npm, yarn, pnpm or Bun, imports components such as DatePicker, and uses them in the application code. It is written in TypeScript with static types, supports server-side rendering and Electron, and supports internationalization in dozens of languages. Themes can be customized in detail; styles are produced with CSS-in-JS (styles written in JavaScript), which allows dynamic and mixed themes. Related projects include Ant Design Pro, Pro Components, Ant Design Mobile, Ant Design Charts and Ant Design X, and the docs offer an MCP server and an LLMs.txt file for AI coding agents.

antd is free and open source under the MIT license.
