Apache ECharts

An open-source JavaScript charting library that draws interactive charts and data visualizations in a web browser for dashboards, reports and products.

What Apache ECharts is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Apache ECharts is an open-source JavaScript library for charts and data visualization in the browser, a project of the Apache Software Foundation. It is written in pure JavaScript and is built on zrender, a lightweight library for drawing on the HTML canvas.

A developer installs it from npm or loads it from a CDN, then describes a chart declaratively: a configuration object (called an option) lists the data, the chart type and the components to draw. ECharts offers more than 20 chart types and a dozen components that can be combined. It can render to Canvas (a pixel drawing surface) or to SVG (vector graphics), and progressive rendering and stream loading let it draw very large data sets. Datasets support transforms such as filtering, clustering and regression, and automatically generated chart descriptions and decal patterns help readers with disabilities.

ECharts is free and open source under the Apache License 2.0.
