Bubble is a no-code app builder, a platform in which a person makes a complete application by pointing and clicking instead of writing code. Its documentation calls it a full-stack visual programming interface: it covers the front end that runs in the browser and the back end that runs on the server.
In the editor, the builder places page elements, defines the database's data types, and builds workflows, rules that run actions when an event happens. An AI builder can generate a first version of an app from one prompt. Each app gets a development database and a live database with continuous point-in-time backups, plus built-in user sign-up and login. Plugins and an API connector link the app to outside services. Web apps and native mobile apps for the Apple App Store and Google Play can share one database and one set of workflows.
Bubble hosts the apps on Amazon AWS. It is sold as a subscription per app, with a free plan and a 14-day trial; each plan includes a monthly number of workload units, Bubble's measure of the server work an app uses.
