Capterra

A software review and comparison website: businesses read verified user reviews to choose software, and software makers list their products to reach buyers.

What Capterra is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Capterra is a software directory and review site, part of G2 Digital Markets. It has been running since 1999 and lists software in many categories, from payroll and CRM to construction management.

Each product has a profile with its features, pricing and ratings, and users write reviews of the products they use. Capterra counts more than 2.5 million verified reviews; human moderators check that each reviewer is a real person, and software checks the text for plagiarism and AI-generated writing. Buyers compare products side by side, read research articles, or talk to a software advisor who recommends tools for their industry. Software makers create or claim a product listing, collect reviews, and see how their listing performs.

Capterra is free for people who look for software, and it lists providers whether they pay or not. Its revenue comes from software providers: they pay for sponsored profiles, which link to their own website, and for lead generation, a program that sends them contacts of businesses that are looking for software. Capterra may earn a referral fee when a visitor goes to a provider through its links.
