daisyUI

A free component library for Tailwind CSS: it adds ready-made class names for buttons, cards, menus and other page parts, so web pages need less styling code.

What daisyUI is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

daisyUI is a component library for Tailwind CSS, created by Pouya Saadeghi. Tailwind CSS is a CSS framework in which each element is styled with many small utility classes. daisyUI is a Tailwind plugin that adds class names for common user-interface components, such as btn, card and toggle.

A developer installs daisyUI as a development dependency and writes one component class name instead of a long list of utility classes; the result can still be changed with normal Tailwind utilities. The components are pure CSS, so daisyUI needs no JavaScript bundle and works with any JavaScript framework. Colors have semantic names such as primary, secondary and error, and their values are CSS variables, so a site can switch to dark mode or to another built-in theme without new class names. The site also offers a theme generator, templates and an MCP server for AI coding agents.

daisyUI is free and open source under the MIT license, and its code is on GitHub.
