HyperFrames is an open-source framework that turns HTML into video, published by HeyGen in the heygen-com/hyperframes repository. A video is written as a web page: HTML elements with data attributes that set when each clip starts and on which track it plays, styled with CSS and animated with GSAP, Lottie, Three.js, Anime.js or the Web Animations API.
The renderer opens the page in headless Chrome (a browser without a window), seeks to each exact frame instead of playing in real time, and encodes the frames with FFmpeg into an MP4 file. The same input therefore always gives the same video, and a slow machine does not drop frames. A command-line tool creates, previews, lints and renders projects locally or in Docker; it needs Node.js 22 or newer and FFmpeg. A catalog adds about 450 ready-made blocks such as transitions, captions and charts. Agent skills teach coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor to plan, write and render a video from a prompt. HyperFrames Studio is a desktop editor for macOS, Windows and Linux.
The code is free and open source under the Apache-2.0 license.
