Indie Hackers

An online community of founders of small internet businesses: a founder posts a product or revenue update there to get feedback and reach the first users.

What Indie Hackers is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 13 October 2026.

Indie Hackers is an online community and publication for founders who build profitable internet businesses and side projects, often alone and without outside investors. Courtland Allen created it in August 2016. Stripe acquired it in April 2017, and in March 2023 it became an independent business again, Indie Hackers, Inc., with Stripe as a seed investor.

Members write posts about their products, marketing experiments and revenue numbers; other members upvote and comment, so the forum works as a place to ask for feedback and advice. The site also publishes case studies and interviews about how particular founders reached a given monthly recurring revenue (MRR), a products database where founders list their products with revenue, an ideas database, and a weekly newsletter of the posts the community upvoted most.

Reading, joining and posting are free. The site also sells a paid subscription called IH+.
