Reddit Ads is the advertising platform of Reddit, Inc., the company that runs Reddit, a site with more than 100,000 active communities where people discuss topics from sports to personal finance. A business creates campaigns in Reddit Ads Manager and shows paid ads in these communities and in their conversation threads.
Each campaign has an objective: awareness, traffic, sales or app promotion, and Reddit suggests ad types and bidding options to match it. Ad types include image, video and carousel ads (several images or videos in one swipeable unit), free-form ads that combine text, images, videos and GIFs, conversation ads placed among comment threads, and AMA (Ask Me Anything) ads. Targeting uses the interests of users, the communities they belong to and the keywords they use. The Reddit Pixel, a script on the advertiser's website, reports what people do after they see an ad. Reddit Pro is a separate free tool for business profiles and keyword tracking.
The advertiser sets a daily or lifetime budget and spend caps, and pays per click (CPC) or per thousand impressions (optimized CPM), depending on the objective.
