Shipmunk

An App Store optimization app for Mac, iPhone and iPad that tracks how apps rank for chosen App Store search keywords and suggests new keywords.

What Shipmunk is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Shipmunk is an ASO tool for Mac, iPhone and iPad, made by Indie Goodies, a two-person independent development team. ASO (App Store Optimization) is the work of choosing an app's title, subtitle and keywords so that the app ranks higher in App Store search results. Shipmunk searches the App Store, saves apps in lists and tracks how apps rank for chosen keywords.

A user opens an app's detail page, enters keywords separated by commas and starts tracking. Shipmunk then records the app's rank for each keyword every day, together with the keyword's popularity, difficulty and traffic score, and draws the trends as graphs. It suggests new keywords from App Store search hints, from the words in other apps' titles and descriptions, and from Search Ads recommendations. A keyword optimizer fits the tracked keywords into the App Store's 100-character keyword field. It can also switch between regional storefronts and connect App Store Connect accounts to manage reviews. Data stays on the device.

It is a native app written in Swift and sold as a universal purchase: one purchase covers the buyer's Macs, iPhones and iPads that use the same iCloud account.
