X Ads is the advertising system of the social network X, run by X Corp. A business creates campaigns in X Ads Manager, a web dashboard at ads.x.com, and pays to show posts and ads to people on X. Formats include promoted posts, image and carousel ads that show up to six products, video ads, and dynamic product ads that promote items from a product catalog.
Each campaign starts with an objective, such as sales, leads, website traffic or app installs, and with targeting by keywords, interests, followers and location. To measure results, X offers conversion tracking. The X Pixel is a JavaScript tag placed on every page of the advertiser's website; it reports visits and actions such as a purchase back to X. The Conversion API sends the same events from server to server, without code on the website. The pixel code still carries the comment "Twitter conversion tracking".
X Ads is a hosted self-serve service. There is no minimum budget: the advertiser sets a budget and is charged only when ads run.
