What ZAWYA is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

ZAWYA is a business and financial news website for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), published as ZAWYA by LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), in English and Arabic. It was founded in London in 2000, moved to Dubai in 2002 and was bought by Thomson Reuters in June 2012; it is now part of LSEG.

Its news sections cover capital markets (IPOs, bonds and sukuk, which are bonds structured to follow Islamic finance rules), business sectors, the economy, construction and energy projects, and the Islamic economy, plus videos, podcasts and ZAWYA Green for renewable energy. A separate press-release section publishes releases from companies, governments and organizations across MENA, sorted into categories such as Companies News, Government News, People In The News, and Africa and Asia press releases. The contact page gives a separate email address and telephone line for press-release inquiries.

ZAWYA also sells research reports, company databases, advertising and sponsorship. Its pages list no prices.
