Aptabase

An open-source, privacy-first analytics service for mobile, desktop and web apps that counts anonymous usage events and shows them in a dashboard.

What Aptabase is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Aptabase is an open-source product analytics service for mobile, desktop and web apps, presented by its makers as an alternative to Google Firebase Analytics. Product analytics means counting how people use an app: sessions, button clicks and feature use.

A developer adds one of 17 lightweight Aptabase SDKs (code libraries, for example for Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter or Electron) and sends named events. The dashboard updates in real time, offers a session timeline and CSV export, and keeps debug builds apart from release builds. Aptabase does not use device identifiers, cookies or fingerprinting. The only link between events is a daily identifier that the server computes as a keyed hash of the IP address and the user agent, with a salt that changes every 24 hours and is then deleted so that data cannot be tied to a person. Data stays in an EU or US data center, or on the developer's own server.

The server code and SDKs are open source under the AGPL-3.0 license and can be self-hosted for free. The managed cloud is free up to 20,000 events a month, then priced by monthly events.
