Plausible

A privacy-friendly website analytics service: a small script counts visits, pages, traffic sources and goals without cookies and shows them on one dashboard.

What Plausible is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Plausible Analytics is open-source web analytics software made by Plausible Insights OÜ, a company in the EU. Web analytics measures how many people visit a website, which pages they view and where they come from. Plausible presents itself as a simpler, privacy-first alternative to Google Analytics.

The site owner adds one lightweight JavaScript tracking script to the pages; the site says it is 54 times smaller than the Google Analytics script. Plausible collects no personal data and sets no cookies, so the site needs no consent banner for it. One dashboard shows visitors, pages, traffic sources and locations, with a real-time view that updates every 30 seconds. Other features are goals and custom events (such as file downloads or form completions), revenue tracking, funnels, scroll depth, UTM campaign tracking, bot filtering, Google Search Console queries and a Stats API.

Plausible is a hosted subscription service in the EU, priced by monthly pageviews, with a 30-day free trial. The self-hosted Community Edition is open source under the AGPLv3 license.
