Mixpanel

A product analytics tool: the application sends an event for each user action, and the tool reports funnels (where users stop in a flow) and retention (who comes back).

What Mixpanel is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Mixpanel is a product analytics platform: software that records what users do inside an app or website and turns those records into reports. The same platform also has session replay, experiments, feature flags and AI agents.

Its data model has three parts. An event is one user action, such as a purchase in an app; a user is the person who did it, identified by a unique ID; properties are attributes of the event or the user, such as the price of the item or the user's email. Events arrive through Mixpanel's SDKs or API, or from a data warehouse connection. Reports show funnels (the share of users who complete each step of a flow, and where they drop off), retention (how many users come back over time) and flows. Session replay shows recordings of real user sessions and heatmaps, and Experiments runs and analyzes A/B tests on the same data. An MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude query it.

Mixpanel is a hosted service priced by events per month: a free plan up to 1 million events, a pay-per-event Growth plan and a custom Enterprise plan.
