Microsoft Clarity

A free website analytics tool from Microsoft: it records visitor sessions for replay and draws heatmaps that show where visitors click and how far they scroll.

What Microsoft Clarity is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 13 October 2026.

Microsoft Clarity is a user behavior analytics tool made by Microsoft. Behavior analytics shows how visitors use the pages of a website, not only how many visitors arrive.

The site owner adds the Clarity JavaScript tag to the site. The script loads asynchronously, so it does not delay the page, and it records interactions such as mouse movements, clicks and scrolls. Session recordings replay what one visitor did on the site, and heatmaps show where visitors click, how far they scroll and where they leave a page. AI summaries and a chat point out patterns in the data. An AI visibility report shows when AI assistants cite the site and which AI bots crawl it. A mobile SDK covers Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native apps. By default, Clarity suppresses the content of the page, and the site owner controls what is sent; data is stored in Microsoft Azure and kept for 30 days.

Clarity is free, with no traffic limits, and users are never required to upgrade to a paid version. The code that captures the data is open source on GitHub.
