Daily

A realtime video and audio service for developers: its SDKs add live calls, recording and streaming to web and mobile apps over Daily's WebRTC network.

What Daily is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Daily is a realtime communications platform for developers, made by the company Daily. It runs WebRTC infrastructure (WebRTC is the browser standard for sending live audio and video between devices) and supplies SDKs, software development kits that add calls to an app. Daily is also the team behind Pipecat, an open-source framework for voice and multimodal AI agents.

In code, a developer creates a call object and joins a room by its address. The JavaScript SDK (daily-js) builds video and audio calls for the web; other SDKs cover React Native, iOS, Android, Python and Flutter, all built on a common Rust core. Calls travel over Daily's own network with more than 75 points of presence. The platform also records calls, streams them over RTMP and HLS, transcribes speech in real time, and connects phone lines through SIP and PSTN dial-in and dial-out.

Daily is a hosted service with usage-based pricing per participant-minute (one person connected to a call for one minute); the first 10,000 minutes each month are free. A HIPAA add-on with a signed BAA is available for healthcare use.
