Framer

A website builder with an AI design agent: a team designs pages on a visual canvas, and Framer publishes and hosts them as a live website with a CMS.

What Framer is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Framer is a website builder from Framer B.V.: people lay out pages on a visual design canvas, and Framer publishes and hosts the result as a live website. Hosting, a CMS (content management system, which stores items such as blog posts in collections), analytics, SEO settings and A/B testing are built in.

An AI design agent generates or refines layouts on the canvas, and every change it makes stays visible and editable. A CMS agent sets up and updates the collections, and an agent can also write code for custom effects and interactions. Through an MCP server, outside AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can update copy or import CMS content, and a person reviews the changes on the canvas before publishing. Published sites are served from a global content delivery network (servers in many locations that deliver pages close to each visitor). Paid plans add a custom domain, a staging environment, branching with previews and localization.

Framer is a hosted service. A free plan publishes on a Framer domain; paid plans are monthly subscriptions that include AI credits, and extra editors cost a monthly fee.
