Google Business Profile

Google's free listing service for businesses: a company's profile with hours, contact details, photos and reviews appears in Google Search and Google Maps.

What Google Business Profile is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Google Business Profile is Google's free listing of a business on Google Search and Google Maps. The profile is the panel that people see when they search for that business, or for businesses like it nearby: hours, contact details, photos, products or services, and customer reviews.

The owner creates a new profile or claims an existing one, then adds hours, photos, products, services or a menu, and a service area for a business without a storefront. The owner can reply to customer reviews and add posts about offers, events and news. Depending on the type of business, customers can book appointments, request quotes, reserve tables or order takeout directly from the profile. Insights show which search keywords led people to the profile and count calls, reviews and bookings. Software platforms use the Business Profile APIs to create and verify locations, manage listings from one location to hundreds of thousands, respond to reviews, create posts and receive real-time alerts about new reviews.

Creating a profile and listing a business on Google costs nothing.
