openstatus is an open-source status page and incident response platform. A status page is a public web page that shows whether each part of a service is working and lists past incidents; uptime monitoring means checking a URL at fixed intervals to see that it answers correctly.
Monitors check a URL from 28 regions and send alerts to Slack, Discord, email, webhooks, PagerDuty and other channels when checks fail. The team declares an incident with a Slack command, and the openstatus agent drafts the status report for a person to approve before it appears on a branded status page on the company's own domain. Every report is timestamped and every change goes to an audit log, which helps with audits such as SOC 2. The service can also be run from the dashboard, a CLI, an API or Terraform.
openstatus is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and can be self-hosted with Docker, or used as a managed service. It is built by a two-person team, Thibault and Max. The managed service has a free Hobby plan and monthly paid plans.
