What Pirsch is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Pirsch Analytics is a privacy-friendly web analytics service, an alternative to Google Analytics, made and hosted in Germany by Emvi Software GmbH. Web analytics means counting visits to a website and showing where visitors come from and what they do. The core of Pirsch is open source.

A site adds the Pirsch script, uses a plugin for its CMS or framework, or sends page views from its server through the API. Pirsch sets no cookies: it recognizes a visitor with a hash (a one-way code) computed from the IP address, the User-Agent header, the date and a per-site salt, so a visitor can be recognized for at most 24 hours and never across sites, and the IP address is never stored. The dashboard shows pages, referrers, UTM campaign parameters, countries, browsers and devices, with filters, events, conversion goals, funnels, session summaries, A/B testing, webhooks, email reports and shared dashboards. Data can be imported from Google Analytics, Plausible and Fathom.

Pirsch is a hosted subscription priced by monthly page views, with a 30-day free trial; enterprises can also install it on their own servers.
