Scaleway

A European cloud provider that rents virtual machines, GPUs, storage, databases and hosted AI models from its data centers in Europe, billed by use.

What Scaleway is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Scaleway is a European cloud provider: it rents computing, storage and network resources in its own data centers, which customers use over the internet instead of running their own servers. Scaleway SAS is a subsidiary of the iliad Group and operates in France, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands, with four multi-AZ regions (regions made of several separate data centers, called availability zones).

The catalogue has more than 100 products. Virtual instances are virtual machines in several sizes, from small development machines to compute-optimized and memory-optimized ones. GPU instances with NVIDIA L4, L40S, H100 and B300 chips run AI training and inference. Other products include S3-compatible object storage, block and file storage, managed Kubernetes (Kubernetes Kapsule), serverless functions and containers, managed databases, private networks and load balancers. Generative APIs serve AI models through an API call, hosted in Europe. Dedibox and Elastic Metal rent whole physical servers.

Scaleway is a hosted service billed by use: most resources have an hourly price with an approximate monthly figure, and prices are shown before tax.
