Twilio Segment

A customer data platform: it collects events from a company's apps and websites through one API and forwards them to analytics tools, ad platforms and data warehouses.

What Twilio Segment is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Twilio Segment is a customer data platform (CDP), software that collects data about what customers do in a company's apps and websites, joins it into one profile per customer and sends it on to other tools. It is made by Twilio, and its product pages and documentation are now on twilio.com.

The core product, Connections, collects event data such as page views, sign-ups and purchases from mobile apps, websites and servers through one API, and pulls in data from cloud apps such as a CRM or a payment system. Each website, app or server is set up as a source. Segment forwards the events to destinations: more than 550 pre-built integrations, including analytics tools, email and messaging tools, ad platforms and data warehouses. Reverse ETL copies records from a data warehouse back into those tools. Add-ons check data quality (Protocols), merge events into identity-resolved profiles (Unify) and build audiences and customer journeys (Engage).

It is a hosted service. Connections has a free plan and paid plans priced by monthly visitors; the full CDP plans have custom prices.
