Telnyx is a communications platform from Telnyx LLC that sells phone services and AI infrastructure through APIs (interfaces that other programs call over the internet). The company describes itself as a licensed carrier, a telephone company in the legal sense, that owns its private network, its edge compute and its GPUs.
A developer searches the Telnyx inventory for local, toll-free or international phone numbers, orders one and assigns it to an application. The Voice API controls calls in code: call flows, recording, conferences and webhooks (HTTP requests that Telnyx sends to the application when something happens, such as an incoming call). Calls travel over SIP trunking, the standard way to carry phone calls over the internet. The messaging API sends and receives SMS and MMS. Other products include voice AI agents, speech-to-text, text-to-speech and inference, which runs AI models on Telnyx GPUs.
Billing is per use, with no contract: published rates per minute, per message part and per number each month, no platform fee, and automatic volume discounts.
