Vue.js (Vue) is a JavaScript framework for building user interfaces, made by the Vue team. It builds on standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript and gives a declarative, component-based programming model: the interface is split into components, and each component describes what the page should show for a given state.
Two features carry this model. Declarative rendering: Vue extends HTML with a template syntax that describes the output from JavaScript state. Reactivity: Vue tracks changes to that state and updates the DOM (the browser's tree of page elements) automatically. In projects with a build tool, each component lives in a Single-File Component, a .vue file that holds its JavaScript logic, HTML template and CSS styles. Vue can enhance static HTML without a build step, run as a single-page application (SPA), render on the server (SSR) or generate static sites. Official libraries include Vue Router and Pinia. The current major version is Vue 3; support for Vue 2 ended on 31 December 2023.
Vue is free and open source under the MIT license.
