Vultr is a cloud infrastructure provider; VULTR is a registered trademark of The Constant Company, LLC. Its main product, Vultr Cloud Compute, rents virtual machines (VMs): software-defined servers that share or reserve part of a physical machine's CPU, memory and disk.
A customer picks a region, a plan size and an operating system in the control panel or through the API, and the server is ready to use within seconds. Plans range from Regular Performance machines with previous-generation Intel CPUs and SSDs, meant for blogs and low-traffic websites, to High Performance, High Frequency and dedicated-CPU plans with NVMe SSDs for databases and applications. Vultr runs 34 cloud data center regions on six continents. Customers can upload their own operating system as an ISO image or deploy ready apps from Vultr Marketplace. Other products include bare metal servers, cloud GPUs, block and object storage, managed databases, Kubernetes and a CDN.
It is a hosted service with on-demand prices per hour, also shown as a monthly price for each plan; customers pay only for what they use.
