Yandex Metrica

A free web analytics service from Yandex: a code snippet on the site records visits, traffic sources and clicks, and shows them in reports, click maps and session recordings.

What Yandex Metrica is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Yandex Metrica (Яндекс Метрика) is a web analytics service made by Yandex. Web analytics measures who visits a website, where the visitors come from and what they do on its pages. Its Russian product page counts 9 million connected sites, over 1.6 million events processed per second, and 120 reports and dashboards.

The site owner creates a tag, a code snippet of JavaScript plus a noscript HTML part, and inserts it in the pages. When a visitor opens a page, the script sends data about the page and the visitor's actions to Yandex Metrica's servers: form submissions, link clicks, scrolling, page load times and completed goals. The servers add age, gender and location. Reports show traffic sources and the results of online and offline advertising, including Yandex Direct. The click map shows clicks on every page element, color-coded, for example as a heat map in which warm colors mean frequent clicks. Session Replay records each visit as a video.

The service is free to use. Metrica Pro is a separate package for large businesses, with unsampled data and higher limits.
