Composio, made by the company of the same name, connects AI agents (programs driven by a language model that carry out tasks by calling tools) to other apps. Composio gives an agent tools for more than 1,500 apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub and Salesforce, and handles the login to each user's accounts.
Its central feature is managed authentication. When an end user connects an account, for example a Gmail account, Composio runs the OAuth flow (the standard process in which a user grants an app access without giving it a password): consent, storage of the access token, refresh of the token, and scopes. Composio keeps the credentials, so the application and the model receive tool results, not raw tokens. Developers add it through SDKs or a hosted MCP endpoint (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI clients to call tools). Triggers deliver events from connected apps, such as a new email, to a webhook.
Composio is a hosted service. A free plan includes a monthly allowance of tool calls; paid plans add a monthly fee and bill further usage as it occurs.
