Dodo Payments, made by Dodo Payments, Inc., is a billing and payments platform for software and AI companies. It acts as a merchant of record, which is the company that legally sells to the buyer, collects the payment and is responsible for sales tax and compliance in the buyer's country.
A developer creates products and checkouts through an API, SDKs and adapters for frameworks such as Next.js, Nuxt and Express. Dodo supports one-time payments, subscriptions with add-ons, usage-based billing that meters events such as tokens or API calls, and credit-based billing. Buyers pay from more than 190 countries in more than 80 currencies with more than 40 payment methods, and webhooks notify the seller's server about each payment event. Dodo also calculates and reports tax, generates invoices and license keys, delivers digital products, and offers an MCP server for AI coding agents.
Dodo Payments is a hosted service with no fixed costs: it takes a percentage plus a fixed fee on each transaction, with extra percentages for some payment methods and for international cards.
