Superwall is a monetization platform for subscription apps on iOS, Android and the web. A paywall is the screen that asks a user to buy a subscription or a one-time purchase before using a feature. With Superwall, a team designs paywalls in a web editor and changes them without a new app release.
A developer adds the Superwall SDK (Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Expo, Flutter and others) and registers placements, named points in the app such as app_open or feature_locked. Campaigns decide which paywall each audience sees at each placement, with filters on user properties such as country or days since install. A campaign can split users between several paywall variants and a holdout group that sees no paywall, and the dashboard compares conversion rate and proceeds per user for each variant. Superwall also builds onboarding flows, tracks entitlements (the features each user has paid for) and can send U.S. iOS users to a Stripe web checkout.
Superwall is a hosted service. Its subscription infrastructure is free; the paywall product is billed as a share of the revenue that comes through its paywalls, plus a monthly fee on larger plans.
