Webflow

A visual website builder and host: a team designs pages on a canvas, manages content in a built-in CMS, and publishes the site on Webflow's servers.

What Webflow is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Webflow is a web platform from Webflow, Inc. for designing, building and hosting websites. It combines a visual editor, a CMS (content management system: it stores items such as blog posts in collections and fills page templates with them) and managed hosting.

A designer sets the layout and typography on a visual canvas, and can add custom code to a page or to the whole site; Interactions, built on the GSAP animation library, add animations. Marketers publish CMS content without a developer, and REST APIs let a program manage that content. Publishing puts the site on Webflow's hosting, which includes SSL/TLS certificates, a global CDN (a network of servers that delivers each page from a location near the visitor), DDoS and bot protection, and automatic backups, with no software updates to run. Other features include A/B tests, localization and an MCP server through which AI tools such as Claude and Cursor edit the site.

Webflow is a hosted service with a plan for each site: a free Starter plan on a webflow.io address, and paid plans that add a custom domain, more pages, CMS items and bandwidth.
