Simple Analytics

A privacy-first web analytics service: it counts page views, referrers and events on a website without cookies or personal data, so no consent banner is needed.

What Simple Analytics is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Simple Analytics is a web analytics tool made by Simple Analytics B.V., an EU-owned company based in Amsterdam that has run the service since 2018. Web analytics counts how many people visit a website, which pages they view and where they come from.

The service records page views, events, referrers and campaign parameters (the UTM tags in links). It uses no cookies or other browser storage, does not collect or store IP addresses, and creates no visitor IDs or profiles; it derives the visitor's country without storing the IP address. Because it collects no personal data, the company says it complies with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive without a consent banner. Data is stored in the EU, with the main infrastructure in the Netherlands. Results appear on a one-page dashboard, and an API and raw exports send the data to BI tools such as Looker Studio and Power BI or to a data warehouse. Large customers run it next to Google Analytics 4 to count the visitors who reject consent.

It is a hosted subscription priced by monthly page views, with a free plan for hobby sites.
