What beehiiv is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

beehiiv is a newsletter platform for creators, publishers and businesses. A newsletter platform combines an email editor, a subscriber list, a sending service and a website, so that one tool covers writing, sending and archiving each issue. beehiiv also hosts podcasts, digital products and community spaces.

A publisher writes an issue in the editor with templates, and beehiiv emails it to every subscriber, with no limit on the number of sends; each newsletter also gets its own website. Subscribers arrive through sign-up forms, pop-ups, a referral program and a recommendation network in which newsletters suggest each other. For income, the platform offers paid subscriptions, direct sponsorships and its own ad network, which places paid ads in newsletters. Analytics, A/B testing, segmentation and automated email journeys are built in, and an API and an MCP server connect it to other software.

It is a hosted service. A free plan covers up to 2,500 subscribers; paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions priced by list size. beehiiv takes no share of paid-subscription revenue.
