Canny is a customer feedback platform for software product teams. It is made by Canny, a privately held company founded in 2017 by Sarah Hum and Andrew Rasmussen. It started as feature voting boards and now also captures feedback from sales calls and support conversations.
On a customer-facing feedback portal, users post feature requests and vote for the ones they want most. The team publishes a roadmap, and Canny sends automatic status updates to the people who asked when a request moves forward or ships. Autopilot, Canny's AI feature, reads call transcripts, support tickets and reviews from tools such as Gong, Intercom and Zendesk, extracts the feature requests and merges duplicates. Each request is linked to the customer account and the revenue behind it. Canny is installed with a JavaScript snippet, native integrations or an API. Its MCP server (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI assistants to call outside tools) connects it to Claude and ChatGPT.
Canny is a hosted service. It has a free plan, and paid plans are subscriptions priced by the number of tracked users, meaning users linked to feedback.
