What Guidejar is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Guidejar is a documentation tool that turns a recorded screen process into a step-by-step guide, an interactive walkthrough or a product demo. It is made by AppMacha Labs and is used for internal wikis, product tours, user onboarding, sales demos and customer help centers.

A user clicks Start Capture in the Chrome extension or in the desktop app for Mac or Windows and performs the task; Guidejar records every interaction with screenshots and builds the guide when the capture stops. The guide can then be edited: an AI writer rewrites the steps, sensitive details are blurred, key areas are highlighted with pan and zoom, and AI voiceover and translation into more than 30 languages can be added. Guides are shared by link or QR code or embedded in a website, and they can be collected in a branded help center on a custom domain, where visitors ask questions in plain language. An MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT create and search guides.

Guidejar is a hosted subscription service: a free plan allows five guides, and paid plans are priced per user per month.
