Headway is a changelog tool for web apps, made by Headway App, Inc. A changelog is a dated list of the changes in a product: new features, fixes and known bugs.
A team writes each update in a Markdown editor (Markdown is a simple text format for headings, lists and links), with images and embedded media, and tags it with a category such as New, Fix or Bug; the categories can be changed. Headway publishes the entries in two places: a public changelog page and an in-product widget, a small panel inside the customer's own app that lists the latest changes. An animated badge on the widget, called Eyecatcher, shows users that something new was posted. Posts can be scheduled, written by several team members, and sent to Slack and Twitter. The page can carry the company's branding, run on its own domain, be private, or be hidden from search engines.
Headway is a hosted service with two plans: a free plan with unlimited changelogs, and a paid Pro subscription that adds a custom domain, white-labelling, team management, private changelogs and scheduled publishing.
