Zalo

A messaging app used mainly in Vietnam: people and businesses send messages and make calls on phones, on desktop computers and in a web browser.

What Zalo is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Zalo is a messaging app from Vietnam, launched in late 2012. Its maker reports 79 million monthly active users and about 2 billion messages a day (September 2025 data) and calls it the number one messaging platform in Vietnam. The company, also named Zalo, is based at VNG Campus in Ho Chi Minh City.

The app runs on phones, as a desktop app (Zalo PC) and in a web browser (Zalo Web). Core features are messages, calls and a Private Feed for sharing moments. AI features turn voice messages into text, translate messages in real time and add captions to video calls. For work and business, Zalo offers tools such as Zalo Business, zStyle and zCloud. Organizations also run Zalo OA channels; more than 20,600 of them connect public services with citizens.

Messaging, calls and the Private Feed are free, and Zalo says they will always remain free. The product page shows no prices for the business tools.
