Asana is work management software made by the company Asana: a shared app, in the browser and as downloadable apps, in which a team records its tasks and projects, who owns each task and when it is due. It also includes AI agents.
Each piece of work is a task with an owner, a due date, comments, files and custom fields such as priority or budget. Tasks belong to projects, which can be shown as a list, a board, a calendar, or a timeline (Gantt chart) with dependencies between tasks. Forms turn incoming requests into tasks, automation rules assign work and update statuses, and dashboards turn project data into charts. Asana links people, tasks, projects, goals and dependencies in a structure it calls the Work Graph; its AI Teammates are pre-built AI agents that act inside it. Asana connects to Slack, Google Drive, Zoom and more than 100 other apps.
Asana is a hosted service sold as a subscription per user per month. The Personal plan is free for one or two people; paid plans add features, and extra AI use is bought in usage packs.
