Complianz

A cookie consent plugin for WordPress and Shopify: it shows a consent banner, blocks tracking scripts until visitors agree and generates privacy documents.

What Complianz is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Complianz is a privacy and cookie consent plugin for WordPress, with a separate app for Shopify stores. Complianz BV in Groningen, the Netherlands, part of iubenda, makes it. Cookie consent means asking each visitor, through a banner, whether the site may use cookies and similar tracking, as privacy laws such as the EU's GDPR and ePrivacy rules and California's CCPA require.

The plugin scans the site for cookies and services, and a setup wizard, pre-filled from the scan, configures the consent banner. Until a visitor consents, it blocks the matching scripts, such as analytics or advertising tags; its Script Center covers more than 250 services and plugins. It applies different banners and legal documents per region, generates documents such as cookie policies and privacy statements, keeps records of consent, and supports Google Consent Mode v2 and the IAB TCF advertising framework. It is self-hosted: the plugin and all stored data stay on the site's own server.

A free WordPress plugin exists; Premium is sold as a licence with one year of support and updates.
