Evernote

A note-taking app that keeps notes, files, web clippings, tasks and calendar events in one searchable account synced across devices.

What Evernote is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Evernote is a note-taking application owned by Bending Spoons. It keeps notes, attachments, tasks and calendar events in one account and syncs them between its apps for Mac, Windows, iOS, Android and the web.

Notes are organized in notebooks, spaces and tags, and can start from ready-made templates. Content arrives in several ways: typing, the Web Clipper browser extension that saves web pages, document scanning, audio recording with AI transcription, and emailing content into the account. Advanced search finds notes with Boolean, geographic and filtered queries, and semantic search finds related notes by their content. Teams edit notes together in real time, leave comments and assign tasks. AI features also write, summarize, tidy and translate notes, and an MCP connection (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI assistants to reach outside data) lets Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools use the notes.

Evernote uses a freemium model: a free plan limited to 50 notes, one notebook and one synced device, and paid monthly or yearly subscriptions with higher limits.
