Miro is an online visual collaboration platform built around a shared canvas, also called an online whiteboard: a large board in the browser or the app where a team adds sticky notes, shapes, diagrams, text and images and edits them together. Miro states that over 100 million people collaborate on it.
A board can hold several formats: whiteboards, diagrams and flowcharts, Kanban boards, timelines, tables, docs and slides. Teams start from more than 7,000 templates, for example for roadmaps, brainstorming, mind maps and customer journey maps. Miro AI generates diagrams, tables and summaries from a prompt, a document or data. Through an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, a standard way for AI agents to use tools), AI tools such as Claude, Cursor or Copilot can work with board content, and more than 250 integrations connect Miro to tools from Microsoft, Slack, Google and Adobe.
Miro is a subscription service priced per member, billed monthly or yearly. The free plan keeps three boards editable; paid plans add unlimited and private boards, more AI credits and features for larger organizations.
