Sublime Text is a text editor for code, markup and prose, made by Sublime HQ Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia. It runs on Windows, macOS, with native support for Apple Silicon processors, and Linux, including ARM64 devices such as the Raspberry Pi. The current major version is Sublime Text 4.
It opens plain-text files and highlights code syntax, with support for TypeScript, JSX and TSX built in. Multiple selections let a user select each occurrence of a word and edit all of them at once. Goto Anything, Goto Definition and Goto Symbol jump across the files of a project, and tabs can be shown side by side. Auto-complete suggests words based on the code already in the project. The interface can be drawn by the GPU (graphics processor). A Python 3.8 API lets plugins extend the editor, for example LSP plugins, which use the Language Server Protocol to bring language-aware features from separate language servers.
It may be downloaded and evaluated for free, but continued use needs a license. A personal license is a one-time purchase with three years of updates; business licenses are an annual subscription per seat.
