Trello

A visual project management tool: teams track tasks as cards in lists on boards, and move each card along as the work progresses.

What Trello is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Trello is a work management tool from Atlassian, which acquired it in early 2017. Work is organized on boards: each board has lists, and each list holds cards, usually one card per task. Teams use it to plan projects, organize workflows and track progress in a visual layout.

A card can have an assignee, a due date, checklists and comments. The Inbox collects to-dos from email, Slack and Microsoft Teams, and the Planner places cards on a calendar. No-code automation is built into every board, and Power-Ups are plugins that connect a board to other apps, such as Slack, Google Drive and Salesforce. Paid plans add views such as Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard and Map, and AI features that write checklists and summaries. Trello runs on the web, on iOS and Android, and as a desktop app, and an MCP server (a Model Context Protocol endpoint) connects it to AI tools.

Trello is a hosted service with a free plan and paid subscriptions billed per user: Standard, Premium and Enterprise.
