Skool

An online community platform: creators run a community with discussions, courses and events in one place and charge members a subscription or a one-time course price.

What Skool is

Written from its maker's own pages, read on 28 October 2026.

Skool is a community platform, a hosted website where a creator runs an online group for members. Its about page says it was founded in 2019 by Sam Ovens and Daniel Kang, has 30 employees and is based in Los Angeles. Anyone can discover communities on Skool or create one; some communities are free and some are paid.

A community owner builds the community, its courses and its events in one place, and charges members either a subscription or a one-time course purchase. Skool combines courses, community discussion and chat, so it works without integrating other tools, and the owner can run it from a mobile device. All plans include unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls, a custom URL and affiliate tools. The public home page lists communities by category, such as tech, money or health, with the monthly price of each paid community.

Skool charges the community owner a monthly subscription plus a transaction fee on member payments; yearly billing gives two months free, and new owners get a 14-day free trial.
